The media office in the Gaza Strip announced that more than 2,700 Palestinian families were completely wiped out over a thousand days of the genocide war carried out by the Israeli occupation on the Strip, while over 90 percent of the area was destroyed, describing what is happening as an “unprecedented humanitarian disaster.” The Director General of the media office, Ismail Al-Thawabteh, said in statements marking a thousand days since the Israeli aggression that the Strip “has gone from a state of relative life and stability to a reality of total destruction,” noting that more than 40,000 Palestinian families were affected by the genocide during the aggression, including over 2,700 families completely erased and removed from the civil registry after all their members were killed. He added that more than 12,000 families have only one surviving member left, considering these figures reflect the scale of the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza. He also pointed out that the death toll exceeded 73,000 who reached hospitals, along with more than 173,000 injured, while more than 9,500 people are still counted as missing.
He pointed out that hundreds of bodies are still lying in the streets and in areas controlled by the Zionist occupation army, while ambulance and civil defense teams are unable to reach them due to ongoing military operations. Al-Thawabta said that the occupation has destroyed more than 90 percent of the Gaza Strip, stressing that the sector “has been set back decades” as a result of the systematic targeting of various aspects of civilian life.
