The vicinity of Sana’a International Airport witnessed a massive popular rally on Sunday demanding that Sana’a forces consolidate the equation of ending the Saudi siege imposed on the airport and Yemen in general for 11 years, following the recent Iranian flight.Special Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:The rally’s statement called on the Yemeni armed forces affiliated with Sana’a to work towards consolidating the equation of breaking the siege, following what it described as the “brave Iranian step,” and to continue operating flights to and from Sana’a Airport.The participants in the rally praised the step taken by the Islamic Republic of Iran in breaking the siege on the airport by operating the first civilian flight to it last Friday.For his part, the Director of Sana’a International Airport, Khaled Al-Shaif, affirmed that opening the airport is a legitimate right of the Yemeni people, calling on the armed forces to secure this right if its prevention continues, to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.He explained that the airport is technically and operationally ready to receive flights, and all that remains is for other countries to follow the example of the Islamic Republic of Iran.An Iranian civilian aircraft had landed at Sana’a International Airport on Friday, as the first aircraft to break the Saudi siege imposed on Yemen for 11 years, while Saudi warplanes failed to thwart the step after being forced by Sana’a forces’ defenses to leave Yemeni airspace, which they had violated concurrently with the flight.For its part, Sana’a forces affirmed their rejection of the continued Saudi siege, and that flights between Tehran and Sana’a will continue regardless of the consequences.
