Bloomberg agency revealed on Saturday that Saudi Arabia has resorted to foreign oil tankers to export its oil via the Mediterranean Sea, to avoid Yemeni attacks carried out by Sana’a forces against Saudi ships in the Red Sea, following its announcement of the siege-for-siege equation over a month ago.Exclusive Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:The agency explained in a report that “Saudi Arabia has begun employing oil tankers operated by South Korean, Greek, and Norwegian companies to transport crude shipments from Yanbu port on the Red Sea to the Egyptian port of Ain Sokhna. The oil is then transferred from Ain Sokhna via the SUMED pipeline to Mediterranean ports, including Sidi Kerir port, in preparation for export to customers in global markets.”Bloomberg indicated that “the adoption of this alternative route comes in an attempt to avoid the risks of Yemeni attacks in the Bab al-Mandab Strait and reduce reliance on the southern Red Sea route, allowing Saudi Arabia to maintain its oil export flows.”This step comes amid ongoing disruptions in navigation in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, amid measures imposed by Sana’a forces targeting Saudi-linked ships, in response to the continued siege imposed on Yemen.
