On Saturday, Israeli forces intensified their attacks on villages and towns in southern Lebanon, targeting residential areas and civilian and medical facilities in a dangerous and ongoing escalation.
The Lebanese National News Agency reported that Israeli forces carried out a large-scale demolition operation in the town of Khiam, along with three consecutive bombings in the town of Mansouri, south of Tyre.
Israeli warplanes also launched airstrikes targeting the town of Nabatieh al-Fawqa and the outskirts of the town of Mayfadoun, coinciding with artillery shelling of the town of Mays al-Jabal.
In the Marjeyoun district, an Israeli army force advanced in the town of Deir Mimas towards a temporary Lebanese army observation post on the outskirts of the town and threw stun grenades in the surrounding area.
This escalation comes a day after Israeli forces set fire to the Mays al-Jabal Governmental Hospital on Friday, in a direct attack on a civilian medical facility. The incident was strongly condemned by the Lebanese Ministry of Health, which stressed that health institutions should be kept out of the way of targeting, amid increasing warnings about the repercussions of this bombing and the ongoing tension on civilians in the border areas.
