The CEO of France’s Energy Group “Total”, Mr. Patrick Pouyanné, said Algeria possesses huge potentialities in traditional hydrocarbons (oil and gas) resources, and Algeria should duly explore them, better than reverting to non-conventional resources (shale oil and shale gas). “The exploitation of the oil and gas shale resource is very costly and requires a large number of expensive drilling wells,” Mr. Patrick Pouyanné told a panel discussion at the Energy Future Summit held on Monday at the International Conference Center “Abdelatif Rahal” on the eastern coast of Algiers.
