By reviewing the harvest of 4 weeks of ground, naval, and aerial operations against Saudi Arabia, the Yemeni forces have effectively closed the first phase of operations that carried the slogan “siege with siege” and escalation with escalation, preparing—as it appears—for a new phase. But what are the most prominent features of the new phase and what are the repercussions of the previous one?Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:On July 20, the Yemeni forces began imposing a naval blockade on Saudi Arabia, represented by preventing the passage of its ships through the Red Sea, reaching the Arabian Sea, and passing through the Gulf of Aden. Over four weeks, these operations witnessed a dramatic development that included not only intercepting ships or issuing warnings to them but also targeting Saudi ships along the entire stretch of the Yemeni coast, east and west. According to their military spokesman, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the Yemeni forces succeeded in striking 8 of them and preventing 48 others, in addition to launching military operations against vital Saudi facilities in 9 locations, starting from oil refineries in Jizan to its fields and facilities in the east, passing through Yanbu, Najran, and Abha.On the field front, the Yemeni forces succeeded in scattering Saudi mobilizations by land and sea, which included carrying out 14 operations, according to Brigadier General Saree’s confirmation, concentrated in Marib, Al-Abr, Al-Mokha, Al-Ruwayk, and Al-Wade’a, in addition to sinking two military landing ships and 10 naval vessels. This statistic appears to be greater than what Saudi Arabia expected, given the short period in which it was carried out, and it showcases a part of Yemeni readiness and preparation. What the Yemeni forces spokesman published may seem to some as just a statistic for a month of operations. However, through the messages it contained and with which Brigadier General Saree concluded his latest statement, it appears to be an end to the first phase of operations and an entry into the second phase, which seems more comprehensive, according to Saree’s confirmation.Although the military statement did not specify the features of the next phase and the nature of its objectives, based on recent American speculations and Western fears that have been marketed, Yemen is preparing for larger operations, especially as it has succeeded in completing the deterrence equation and protecting sovereignty. That phase will be more lethal than the previous one.
