Sana’a – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:The Ministry of Health in the Sana’a government revealed today the catastrophic repercussions of the Saudi siege imposed on Yemen for 12 years, which have afflicted kidney failure patients. The Minister of Health and Environment, Dr. Ali Shaiban, explained at a press conference at the Al-Thawra General Model Hospital that the ministry has been unable to provide dialysis machines due to the ongoing siege. The Health Minister stated that appeals to the United Nations to transport the needs of dialysis centers via its aircraft have gone unanswered, a suspicious international failure that exposes double standards, as international organizations speak of human rights but remain silent in the face of a siege that slowly kills patients. He added that the arbitrary practices of the Saudi enemy include detaining medicines and medical supplies in Djibouti, where they are subjected to complex procedures that increase the suffering of patients, as if Riyadh is deliberately prolonging the siege to intensify the torment of Yemenis. For his part, the spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Dr. Anis Al-Asbahi, revealed that the Saudi aggression bombed the Al-Ghayl Kidney Center and the Yemen International Center for Dialysis in Taiz, completely destroying them, a fully-fledged war crime added to the record of Saudi crimes in Yemen. He pointed out that Al-Thawrah Hospital recorded 295 deaths of kidney failure patients during the year 2025, and 160 deaths from January to July 2026.He warned that the numbers could double with the continuation of the siege, especially as more than 1,500 cases need kidney transplants, and more than 8,000 cases depend on regular dialysis.
