Israeli politician Moshe Feiglin, head of the Zehut (Identity) party, publicly called for the complete depopulation of the Gaza Strip, offering its residents a choice between displacement and death.
These statements were made during his participation in the Knesset Channel’s “First Vote” program, where he engaged in a heated debate with a young interviewee about his plan, which he calls “voluntary displacement.”
During the discussion, Feiglin asserted that not a single Gazan should remain in Gaza, claiming that the vast majority of the Strip’s residents want to leave, but complex Israeli procedures are preventing them from doing so.
In direct response to the young man’s question about the fate of those who refuse to leave their homes and reject this displacement, Feiglin revealed the coercive aspect of his plan, emphasizing that they must be forced to leave by any means possible.
He gave an extreme example of the need to shut off the water taps and starve the population, indicating that Gazans would be forced to leave as soon as they searched for a cup of water to drink, and those who refuse should die of thirst, as he put it. Feiglin showed no sign of backing down in the face of the interviewer’s outrage when he asked whether he actually meant the extermination of two million people. Instead, he justified his position by claiming that the distorted view that granted human rights to the Palestinians led to the “catastrophe” of October 7, citing the death of his grandson in the war as “a heavy price for these policies which he considered lenient” and demanding that they be dealt with more strictly and brutally.
