The Kingdom informed the organization of supplying 7.122 million barrels per day during the month, and producing 6.238 million barrels per day, a figure close to the agency’s estimates.The term “supply” in the oil industry refers to the amount of crude reaching the market, including the country’s total oil exports, including shipments drawn from inventories, plus domestic consumption within refineries and power plants.Based on these data, the International Energy Agency lowered its forecast for Saudi crude supplies during 2026 by 885,000 barrels per day, to reach 7.6 million barrels per day, indicating a delay in production recovery in the Gulf region.Saudi crude shipments, including those from the Red Sea and undeclared shipments, also fell by 1.1 million barrels per day on a monthly basis, to reach 3.5 million barrels per day, coinciding with a decline in inventories by 400,000 barrels per day.**Declining Supplies and Worsening Global Market Crisis**At the international level, the International Energy Agency suggested that global oil supply and demand will decline by larger percentages than expected this year, indicating that the lack of progress towards ending the war on Iran delays the return of oil flows from the region to normal levels until 2027.The escalation of operations on shipping routes contributed to pushing crude prices towards the $110 per barrel level for the first time since last May, coinciding with record jumps in the prices of derivatives and fuels, foremost among them diesel.The agency expects global oil supply to decline during 2026 by 5.7 million barrels per day, about 6%, compared to its previous forecast of a 4% decline. With scarce supplies, the world is resorting to drawing from inventories at a record pace of 3.1 million barrels per day in August to cover the shortfall.
