The National Gathering of Palestinian Tribes, Clans, and Families called on Arab tribes, clans, and the Arab world on Wednesday to make next Friday a day of anger and widespread solidarity with the Palestinian people and the Gaza Strip, in protest against the ongoing killing, siege, and destruction.
In a statement, the Gathering held the Peace Council and its president, US President Donald Trump, fully responsible for the continued tragedy in the Gaza Strip, given the ongoing war and the absence of any serious action to halt the escalating humanitarian catastrophe.
The statement pointed out that the collapse of the Al-Saada building in Gaza City, and the resulting casualties, illustrates the extent of the danger threatening thousands of families forced by the war and destruction to reside in damaged and dilapidated buildings.
It explained that the continuation of the war and the obstruction of reconstruction, along with the thousands of damaged buildings and the widespread rubble throughout the Gaza Strip, exacerbate the humanitarian suffering endured by Palestinians. The group considered that the Peace Council, with what it described as its silence and inability to stop the bloodshed in Gaza, is practically turning into a witness to the tragedy instead of being a tool to end it, calling on the United Nations, Arab countries, mediators and guarantors to take urgent action to stop the war and immediately begin reconstruction, remove rubble and secure safe housing for Palestinian families.
He warned of a harsh winter threatening the lives of thousands of families in the Gaza Strip, noting that approximately 1,500 buildings and housing units are at risk of collapse, housing tens of thousands of residents.
The group stressed the urgent need to remove the hazards posed by the dilapidated buildings and rubble and to provide safe housing for the residents, warning of continued casualties due to the dangerous housing conditions left behind by the war in various parts of the Strip.
