The launching of the early warning alert via phones during the speech of the Saudi Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Ahmed Al-Rajhi, at the Riyadh Economic Forum raised questions about the repercussions of the military escalation and the Yemeni attacks on the security scene in the Saudi capital, at a time when Riyadh is seeking to present itself as a global center for business and investment.Exclusive Follow-ups — Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:Circulated scenes showed the moment the alert was issued on the phones inside the forum hall, which cut off the atmosphere of the economic event and brought the security risks file back to the forefront of the scene, in conjunction with the continuation of tensions and attacks targeting the Saudi depth. The appearance of the alert during an economic event in the capital reflects an aspect of the security challenges facing Saudi Arabia in light of the escalation linked to its war on Yemen, and raises questions about its repercussions on Riyadh’s image as a safe destination for hosting international conferences and attracting investments. These developments coincide with reports about the repercussions of the disruption of aviation movement on the participation of executive officials in international economic events hosted by Riyadh.Earlier, the British newspaper “Financial Times” mentioned that a number of senior executive officials in international oil companies modified their plans to participate in person in the World Petroleum Council conference held in the Saudi capital. These developments place Riyadh’s ambitions to transform the capital into a global financial and economic center before a test linked to the extent of the Saudi authorities’ ability to contain the repercussions of the security escalation and guarantee the stability of travel movement and the continuation of international events.
